Formed 2015 by two sisters Brèagha Cuinn (Guitar and vocals) and Onnagh Cuinn (Bass and vocals) outside a small whiskey village called Tomintoul in the Highlands. Due to their remote location, the lack of other musicians meant they were missing a drummer. To solve the issue, the band went ahead and performed live with a drum machine.

What makes this an anomaly is the duo have been completely DIY since forming but have achieved a lot on their own. Nothing on Spotify, that doesn't phase me at all but I know it can scare people off in the industry. They're super keen to tour as opposed to playing one off gigs.

With multiple releases under their belt and tours stretching from Europe to Japan (including a tour with The Hives) Bratakus quickly attracted a wider audience.
