Natia Chichinadze, AKA Creams, makes music full of traps. ...or, as some call it, "dark pop on a highway".
Each song a Pandora’s Box with paradoxical lyrics and melodies born from myths, dreams and literary ideas; sensory-stimulating music that sounds like “cotton candy,” but with far deeper heart notes. Emerging from Georgia, a small country fuelled by tension on the borders of Europe and Asia, Creams speaks 4 different languages and has a powerful sense of her own abilities. Her creativity comes from instinct, her gut “never fails,” and she insists that the circumstances of her generation prepared her for battle. Driving every aspect of the songwriting process is paramount to Creams’ creative output. She writes, plays and produces all of the records from concept to master, and spends her spare hours hacking plugins and tirelessly hustling to make these records come to life. Making music for Creams is therapy, an emotional outlet when the world reveals its chaotic and complex nature. Through her prism, soundwaves become refracted colours, lyrics are dark mantras and her ethereal attitude glides above celestial melodies and lightweight beats. The result is magnetic, brooding, subversive pop that bores deep into the skull, and sticks to skin like sweet, gluey glitter. There’s no escape from the enchanting rapture of Creams’ music, though it’s well worth the fight.
