Her sets combine Italo, New Wave, Cosmic Sounds, 80s, Dark Disco and Electro. Due to her knowledge in music and sense for people & crowds she has the ability to play in a club context but also on other occasions. She played at Golden Pudel Club, Else Berlin, Südpol, U&G and various events, gallery openings.
Last year Katja started a DJ set series at the Planetarium Hamburg called “Electric Lights - Women in Electronic Music”. Her first guests were Helena Hauff and DJ MELL G.
More to come this summer is “Days at Kolorado” a day party on Saturdays in collaboration with design agency Karl Anders. It's going to be held in the stunning location Kolorado in Altona with a rooftop.
Katja has been running her party series "Kann Denn Liebe Synthie Sein?" for many years in Hamburg. Known for her unique curation the artist list on her parties included Essaie Pas, Cosmetics, The Hacker, Josh Cheon (Dark Entries), Wolfram, Italo Brutalo, Curses, Neil Landstrumm, Kittin, The Emperor Machine, Perel, Local Suicide and many more.
Katja Ruge & Frank Husemann. The two got together to enjoy the machines and sounds in the studio, and before they knew it, they were doing remixes for artists such as Erasure, Cerrone, Ruede Hagelstein, Polly Scattergood or Cada Un. They released on Bordello A Parigi, Ombra INT., TAU, A CLEAN CUT and Figure Music.
They're mad about vintage analogue synthesizers, and these machines really define their sound. They produce in the legendary Synthesizer Studio Hamburg. This is the synth collector's paradise owned by Frank & Sunny, hidden behind the grey walls of the Bunker and the Club Uebel & Gefährlich.
