The Berliner with Italian roots performs his observations on the human condition in front of a large audience with the kind of casual precision that is usually only found in older cabaret veterans. The stage has only recently become his new profession, and he became known to people on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok with an approach that no influencer agency could dream up. Around two million followers join him on social media to get worked up about the illusory world of social media.

In his stage program, on the other hand, he puts his finger in the wounds of real life. According to Marco, nobody goes to board game evenings because of the board games, but only because of the alcohol. The truth is that parents think of their children as ungrateful brats and naturally expect something in return for at least two decades of sacrifice. And even a twenty-something like him feels old when he enters a branch of Snipes and experiences a hipster foreign language that would be well described as a mixture of Silicon Valley English, MDMA residual effects and soft Klingon.

Without politics and without discourse, deep down in everyday life, Marco Gianni is definitely about something. Whether in his videos online or in his storytelling on the live stage, this young man demonstrates how we constantly paint a picture of ourselves with our wounded egos that hangs so far too high for everyone that our souls become stretched. He not only shows how naked the emperor is, but also all his subjects.
