Mr. Irish Bastard is an international force in the Celtic punk scene

The band was founded in 2006 after a night of drinking by Irishman Chris Lennon and his colleague Gran E. Smith in Münster. Armed with an acoustic guitar and banjo, the duo quickly found a group of like-minded people and off they went. Inspired by The Pogues , Mr. Irish Bastard wanted to create a sound that combined the raw spirit of punk with the melodic and narrative traditions of Irish folk music. Mr. Irish Bastard quickly earned their reputation for energetic live shows, where the band wowed audiences in clubs and at festivals in 20 countries with infectious enthusiasm and exuberant spirits.
