Great breakfast variations in the sunshine
HINZ & KUNZ
One of our absolute favorites is Café Hinz und Kunz in Lindenthal. Whether savory or sweet, with a big or small appetite, everyone will find something here. For example, you can choose between pancakes, scrambled egg variations or a Strammen Hinz/Kunz. Take a look here for all the delicious breakfast options. During Easter, breakfast is even available until 3.00 pm (instead of 12.00 pm as usual)! So you can feast at your leisure - both indoors and outdoors! With the great weather that's forecast, the café's cozy terrace is the perfect place to enjoy the sun and a delicious coffee.

Breakfast like in France
CHANTE COCOTTE
Take a short trip to France - without leaving Cologne. This is possible at Chante Cocotte, a charming little café run by Emilie, a true Frenchwoman who exudes typical French charm. The small but lovely courtyard is a particularly good place to have breakfast in good weather. Café au lait with a fluffy croissant or would you prefer a hearty cheese or sausage platter with fresh bread? No matter what you choose, one thing is certain with all three options: they are incredibly delicious and come straight from France.

Varied and vegan brunch
ECCO
If you fancy a proper brunch with plenty of choice, we can recommend ECCO. Ecco is a restaurant that is special in many ways: let's start with the fact that you can brunch here every day from 10 am to 3 pm (we think that's great), then part of the buffet is completely vegan and many dishes are also gluten-free (so you can really take ALL your friends with you) and in addition, the food is mainly sourced regionally and always fresh, which means that the buffet can always look different (healthy, fresh, delicious & varied - what more could you want?). There are also seats outside where you can enjoy your breakfast in the sun :)

The best pancakes in town
CAFE BO
If you like pancakes for breakfast, you'll love Café Bo! According to Cosima, our café expert, they have the best pancakes in the whole city. Always incredibly fluffy, sometimes classic with maple syrup and fruit, sometimes as a sweet and savory mix and sometimes as a beet variation. Here, a lot of emphasis is placed on homemade dishes and the regional origin of the products (as far as possible), and you can taste it. Of course, there are numerous alternatives to the pancakes, such as sandwiches, French toast or scrambled eggs.

colorful super food
NOBLE GREEN
If you fancy a very healthy breakfast, you should make your way to Edelgrün. Clean eating is a top priority here, and that starts with breakfast. We were immediately impressed by the Winter Porridge Bowl with gluten-free oats, chia seeds, bananas, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, almond milk, peanut butter and caramelized walnuts. By the way, all breakfast dishes are as colorful as this list! By the way, it's worth coming early here: So that nothing has to be thrown away, there is only ever a certain amount of breakfast ingredients. It is therefore possible that dishes will run out at some point. Experience shows that this is usually around 2.00 pm.

Breakfast directly from the neighborhood
HEIMISCH CAFE
Heimisch stands for delicious coffee and regional food. On the website, you can see directly which farmers the ingredients come from. We think that's great! The dishes are inspired by grandma's recipes and are always freshly prepared. For breakfast, you can choose between different boards, all of which contain fresh baked goods and various toppings. How about the green board, for example, which comes with rolls, bread, baked vegetables, a variety of salads, a seasonal savory spread, fruit spread and mustard cream? Heimisch is a particularly good place to visit with the whole family, as you can only reserve a table for groups of six or more. You can also enjoy the "social breakfast" with a larger group. Take a look here, where you can find all the breakfast boards at a glance.

Lovingly homemade
COFFEE AND CAKE
The small, cozy restaurant on Friesenplatz will enchant you with its lovingly prepared, always homemade dishes. The classic here is the scrambled eggs made from three organic eggs, which you can get in all kinds of variations. We particularly like the homemade Bircher muesli, which you can also see in the picture. There are also delicious avocado sandwiches, paninis, breakfast plates and smoothies - as you can see, it's all very healthy here. "Homemade with love" is a top priority here, both for breakfast and lunch.
