Beer garden in Munich: Our tips

Beer garden in a building pit? Sounds crazy, but it's great! The operator of our beloved Café Kosmos has brought life to a Schwabing building pit. Here, green and colorful raised beds are given to people from the neighborhood, creating a blooming paradise amidst the gravel and a collective hustle and bustle. Seductively low prices, umbrellas against the sun and a friendly crowd of all ages. We love it!

Looking for a magical location for your warm summer evening? You've come to the right place! Whether it's a cocktail, aperitivo or a classic beer: you're sure to find the right drink. Food? You can easily get it in the beer garden next door. The atmosphere is particularly beautiful after sunset, when the fairy lights shine in all their glory. The Bar am See will be open again from April 2026!

The Hirschau is always worth a visit. Whether it's a juicy grilled chicken, classic Obazda, Steckerlfisch or an oven-fresh pretzel, you're sure not to go home hungry here! Here you get the ultimate beer garden feeling, that's a promise! Right on Wiener Platz, in the middle of ancient chestnut trees, you can enjoy your beer and Bavarian delicacies. From time to time, the sun beckons through the treetops until the day turns to evening. This place definitely belongs on every Munich fair-weather bucket list!

The Ayinger in der Au serves creative Bavarian delicacies and many different types of beer. The dishes are super varied and there is definitely something for everyone, whether you prefer vegetarian, vegan or meat. And if the sun isn't shining, you can take refuge in the rustic pub. The beer garden at the Chinese Tower is of course a must in Munich. In addition to the culinary classics, you will find traditional folk music and even vegan dishes. Alternatively, you can also bring your own snack! You are never alone in this beer garden, surrounded by the trees of the English Garden and always have a great view of the Chinese Tower.
