Munich: Eating fondue like in Switzerland - Rausgegangen

When it gets cold outside and the year draws to a close, fondue is added to the menu at München72. A fondue visit here has almost become a tradition for us in the run-up to Christmas, not least because of the particularly nice atmosphere at München72. But the decision may be a little difficult: there is meat, cheese and truffle cheese fondue. The former consists of pork fillet, turkey breast and beef fillet with homemade dips, mixed salad, bread and mixed pickles. The cheese is accompanied by baked potatoes, mixed salad and crusty farmhouse bread. Brand new in 2022 is the vegan fondue made from cashew nuts.

The Gärtnerplatz Alm is probably the place to go when it comes to eating fondue in Munich. Almost the entire menu here revolves around fondue - at least the main courses. If you are a vegetarian, five different variations await you: the Munich dark beer fondue, fondue provencale, a classic alpine cheese fondue, truffle fondue and the fondue Italiano. Meat fondue is of course also available, with beef and chicken. However, you have to order this in advance and you can get it from at least €35 or at least 4 people. All fondues are served with mixed pickles and a bread basket. If that's not enough for you, you can order your own side dishes such as salad, grilled vegetables, rosemary potatoes and other delicious things.

In the winter months, people go to the Holzkranich not only for the delicious snack boards, but also for the equally delicious cheese fondue (pre-order here too). Fondue can be celebrated particularly well in the restaurant's living room atmosphere. In addition to a generous pot of cheese, the Holzkranich offers a selection of side dishes: croutons, small potatoes, sautéed mushrooms and steamed broccoli. Moah!
