Dancing like in Brazil - your new hobby that you'll love! 🎶💃🏼

"Try a new dance class". Bingo card 2025, third line, underlined twice and with an exclamation mark. My pen, its color slowly fading, scribbles eagerly across the paper. The squiggly bingo card for my year is filled, my motivation seemingly unstoppable. I have to smile a little when I think back on it. 👀

Summer is passing far too quickly once again - and now? A little leap back in time to the present: a late summer September with dull weather and a pinch of melancholy in the air. Wouldn't now be the perfect time to unpack a few last destinations from my 2025 bingo card? So back to the initial keyword: "Dance class and try something new?" But where is the best place to do that?

The organizer of "Brazilian Barulho Bom" has a very clear answer to this question: DANCE AT FORRO! At the forró what? Don't worry if you haven't heard of it yet, because it's definitely not too late to get to know and love Forró. 🎶🩷

In short, Forró is a couple's dance from Brazil that gives you that very special feeling. A mix of atmospheric percussion sounds, lively movements and a close connection with your dance partner. However, it is said that you can only really feel it once you have experienced this dance style for yourself. So get on the dance floor! And where better to do that than at the "Brazilian Barulho Bom" on September 13 - an event where you can get an insight into the world of Forró. Not only will there be a lot of Forró dancing here - Latin Grammy award winners Mariana Avdar and Mestrinho will also be playing. And in front of the entire Forró community from a total of 35 different cities and 10 countries.

So anyone who is curious and wants to try something completely new this year really shouldn't miss this event. And don't be shy - you can really try out and reinvent yourself here! In the diverse and feminist Forró community, everyone dances with everyone else. The motto here is: "Come as you are!". You can expect pure Brazilian warmth, an energetic Forró show, delicious food from the BBQ (also vegan & vegetarian), cool DJ music and simply a great atmosphere.

Alternatively, the organizer of the "Brazilian Barulho Bom" event offers regular Brazilian Forró parties and dance classes in Ottensen. I know, we all know that long hesitation when it comes to simply trying out new things. But here, you get infected by the positive Forró euphoria really quickly. I was particularly impressed by the words of the organizer. "You think you have two left feet, but you're willing to admit that it's physically impossible. Trust me. We'll find your right foot."
