A SPECIAL FAMILY DAY AT THE MUSEUM
The GRASSI in Leipzig is not only a place for art and culture enthusiasts, but there is also plenty for children and families to discover, try out and experience. Whether it's rainy weather, winter days or a sunny Sunday: the museums at GRASSI offer creative programs, exciting spaces and festivals for the whole family all year round. Especially cool: The permanent exhibitions at the Museum of Applied Arts and the Museum of Ethnology are free for everyone.
OUR HIGHLIGHTS FOR YOUR FAMILY-TIME AT GRASSI
PLAYFULLY THROUGH THE MUSEUM WITH THE MEDIAGUIDE
The Museum of Applied Arts' free app takes children and young people on an interactive discovery tour: "Listen and look" or "Play smart" are the names of the rallies that make you want to explore the exhibitions for yourself. The guide can be borrowed from the museum ticket office or downloaded directly from the app store.
DISCOVERING MUSIC IN THE SOUND LAB
Children can experiment to their heart's content in the sound laboratory: How is a sound actually made? What does a wind machine sound like? And what does an organ look like from the inside? From the transparent organ to the giant TamTam, there are instruments for young and old sound researchers to try out.
A LIVING ROOM FOR EVERYONE
Here, everyone can play, read and be creative together. The Bonvenon room is an open living room for all generations. Games and books are available here, and the room is also a studio and event venue.
SUNDAYS ARE FAMILY TIME
Every Sunday at 3 pm, it's family time at GRASSI! After a tour of the exhibition, we go to the workshop or the sound lab together. A perfect weekend moment for parents, grandparents and children.
BIRTHDAY PARTIES AT GRASSI
For little birthday guests, the museum becomes a treasure trove: exciting tours, games and creative activities make this special day an unforgettable experience.
THE GRASSIFEST
Leipzig's most beautiful family festival takes place every September at GRASSI. There are creative workshops, exciting guided tours for all ages, sound experiments and treats from the museum café.
