The rain is pattering against the window and someone is reading to you: What could be better in bad weather? If you fancy a reading, the Literaturhaus München is the place to be. Here you are always at the pulse of the literary scene, many star authors present their books here - usually in the large hall with the great window front. And then there are the high ceilings, the old wooden floor and the library... The building on Salvatorplatz is pure literature.

The cosy Café Hüller with fresh, organic-certified dishes is located directly on the Isar and invites you to linger with its colorful furniture and friendly staff. Look forward to sumptuous salads, vegan chili, veggie burgers or a classic schnitzel with the best fried potatoes.

How about a British-style cake and tea? Brown's Tea Bar will immediately enchant you with its unique ambience in traditional Victorian house style: old oil paintings, English antiques and a large selection of teas and cakes. Super tasty!

Here you'll find films in OV and a great, sophisticated program. The mixture of blockbusters, arthouse and live broadcasts has made the Cinema a top cinema location since 1975!

Another tip for a great movie experience: City Kinos München is located in an old public theater and former film palace - now with modern cinema seats, a relaxed bar in the courtyard and a varied program. There are regular premieres, original versions, matinees and late showings - perfect for anyone who loves a variety of films and a special cinema atmosphere!

The wonderful Wortwahl bookshop is located in the Glockenbachviertel, very close to Gärtnerplatz. Two small stores full of attention to detail and a special selection of novels, non-fiction books, but also greeting cards and cookery and travel books, perfect as gifts, await you here. The staff are welcoming and always happy to offer friendly advice. It's easy to get stuck in for longer than you expected!

If you're looking for something a little more niche and cozy, you should definitely stop by the Glitch Bookstore. The queer-feminist bookstore, which also regularly hosts events in an intimate atmosphere, has a special selection of LGBTQA* novels, feminist non-fiction and more!

There are also readings at the Rauch & König bookshop. But not only authors are guests here, the store is also the perfect place for magazine readings or writing workshops. And, of course, for anyone looking for good new reading material!

The Lehmkuhl bookshop awaits you in the heart of Schwabing. This traditional store has been supplying Munich residents with a top selection of novels, non-fiction and international titles since 1903. Perfect for sinking into!

The concept at Paint Your Style is easy: book a table for yourself or your group, browse the shelves for your favorite ceramic item (there's a great selection!) and paint it however you like. You'll find brushes, paints, turntables and lots of other tools there. There is also a coffee machine and cold drinks!

Our tip for fans of different genres is the cozy Kult 9. The small concert venue with the lovely team is an absolute feel-good place to sway to the music of rising artists without much hustle and bustle. It's sure to warm your heart!

However, well-known artists who are no longer newbies would go beyond the scope of these rooms with their fan crowds. So it's a good thing that there are venues with a little more space - like the Muffathalle in the Muffatwerk. There's more than enough space here to dance your heart out!

Or would you prefer classical music? There are great events for classical music fans at the Isarphilharmonie, among others. Listening to live orchestras with impressive instruments: indoor music can be so beautiful.

You can rent a great bowling alley at Wirtshaus Hohenwart, for example. This established pub in Giesing serves the finest Bavarian cuisine and also has a rustic bowling alley surrounded by dark wood, which you can play on with a group of up to ten people.
