1. Mai Demo 2026 - Geld ist da! Ran an die Reichen!

In the organizer's words:

This year, we are once again taking to the streets in Hamburg's rich neighborhoods, loudly and militantly - for real redistribution. While Merz and his ilk are making policies to make the rich even richer, we are clearly saying: not like this. The richest one percent own almost 35% of all private wealth - and we are supposed to tighten our belts? There is enough money - it just needs to be redistributed fairly!

The government's current course is clear: the times of supposed prosperity are over. Be it the fairy tale of "lifestyle part-time work" or the gleeful talk of the Bavarian king of bratwurst á la "an extra hour a day won't hurt anyone". Merz and his ilk believe that "we" must now "all" tighten our belts and work even harder to secure Germany's prosperity. Their plans: they want to further reduce and ultimately abolish the welfare state, which is already groaning in every nook and cranny. They want to further harass those who are unable to meet the disproportionate requirements of the job center. And they want to attack basic workers' rights!

These are all measures to keep money in the state coffers. Money that does not end up with those who work, study, train or take on the majority of invisible, unpaid care work under increasingly insecure and stressful conditions - on the contrary! The money goes to those who profit from this misery and have always profited in times of crisis. They demand more and more from us - our time, our work - and we get less and less in return. Why? Because they are making policies to make the rich even richer.

Although there is enough on the plate for everyone, nothing happens. 62% of all people in Germany support the reintroduction of wealth tax, 71% are in favor of higher taxes on huge inheritances and yet the CDU is blocking any political debate on the subject or turning it into a debate on envy - and the SPD is dragging its feet.

That's why we say: Enough is enough! There is money - go after the rich! We will not allow ourselves to be played off against each other and incited. We don't look down, we look up and at those who have an interest in making us feel like shit because they benefit from this inequality.

We demand the consistent taxation of wealth, the reintroduction of wealth tax and the effective taxation of large inheritances and gifts - especially business assets.

Let us therefore show on the streets of Hamburg on May 1st that we will not sit idly by and listen to this, but that we will stand united against these attacks on us and our rights and not allow ourselves to be pushed around. Come to Jungfernstieg (Reesendammbrücke) on May 1st at 14:30 and demonstrate with us.
