Germany, 2033: The far-right party AUFSTAND is the German Chancellor. When the young lawyer Marie Wigand is asked to assist her boss in a new criminal trial, she has no idea of its historic dimensions. The Secretary General of the only opposition party, REFORM, is accused of being behind a bomb attack on the AUFSTAND party headquarters. But it soon becomes clear that it is not just a question of guilt or innocence: if the politician is convicted, her party could be banned - and the way would be clear for AUFSTAND to abolish the Basic Law. A race against time begins, and Marie finds herself in a battle between David and Goliath, in which things become increasingly dangerous for her too ...

Bijan Moini, born near Karlsruhe in 1984, is a lawyer, political scientist and civil rights activist with German-Iranian roots. After completing his doctorate and legal clerkship in Hong Kong and Berlin, he worked as a lawyer for a commercial law firm. When he came up with the idea for his first novel, he resigned and dedicated himself to writing. "Der Würfel" was published by Atrium Verlag in 2019. He now works for the Society for Civil Liberties and appears on television, radio and in numerous print and online media as an expert on civil liberties. He has already appeared before the Federal Constitutional Court several times and has been in charge of a major expert report on the AfD since spring 2025. Moini lives with his family in Berlin
