Raphael Lepenies has been writing essays and "painting words" for almost ten years - short, poetic texts that have now been shared by over 100,000 people. In essays, poetry and doodles, he addresses the big questions of life: the search for meaning, self-discovery and longing. With his Pragmatic Poetry series and the BoD bestseller Life is Terribly Beautiful, he gets to the heart of these topics both pointedly and emotionally - on paper and on social media. A central theme of his work is the question of how we can set boundaries and at the same time open up spaces for closeness and relationships without losing ourselves. In addition to his work as an author, Lepenies was also active as a systemic coach for many years.

Raphael Lepenies will be reading live from his books as part of the 25hours x Pragmatic Poetry Tour 2025. On this evening, Lepenies will be accompanied by multi-instrumentalist and producer Felix Dreiser. The Cologne-based musician builds sonic bridges with his sound: Between organic and synthetic worlds, between electronic pulse, sophisticated sound design and the warmth of acoustic instruments.
