Clyde’s Delight – Straight Ahead Jazz

With "Clyde's Delight", the audience can expect a powerful trio that is deeply rooted in the tradition of modern jazz - and continues it with joy of playing, sophistication and its own signature style. The three Würzburg jazz professionals Anton Mangold (alto saxophone & piano), Rudi Engel (double bass) and Uli Kleideiter (drums) present an energetic program that includes original compositions in straight-ahead style as well as selected jazz standards.

Anton Mangold, multi-award-winning multi-instrumentalist, contributes not only virtuoso saxophone playing but also sonorous piano parts. Rudi Engel is one of the most distinguished German double bass players and is a permanent fixture on the German jazz scene. Uli Kleideiter provides the rhythmic foundation with his dynamic and sensitive drumming - always precise, always with drive.

Together, the three musicians create intense musical dialogs, improvisational flights of fancy and dense sound spaces - sometimes rough and swinging, sometimes lyrical and restrained, but always with a clear reference to the jazz tradition. Anyone who loves jazz the way it should sound - genuine, lively, handmade - should not miss this evening.
