40 years of the Blue Caravan - Film: "Return from No Man's Land" followed by a panel discussion

Everyone is important, everyone is needed.

To mark the 40th anniversary of the Blue Caravan, we are showing the impressive documentary "Return from No Man's Land". The film follows the process of dissolving the long-term psychiatric clinic in Blankenburg Monastery on the outskirts of Oldenburg in the 1980s. It shows the isolation of people in the cramped rooms of the clinic - and the efforts of a dedicated team to enable them to live in dignity outside the clinic.

This awakening was not only a turning point for many of those affected, but also the starting point for the creation of the Blue Caravan.

Following the film, the Blue Caravan and guests from the professional world and civil society will discuss psychiatric reform, new approaches and the institutional blockades that still exist today.
