4ter Bremer Zine Festival Comic Battle

In the organizer's words:

The Bremen Zine Festival invites you to the 4th Zine Festival Comic Battle. The participants will compete against each other in duels of two. In response to a cue, they have 3 minutes to draw a short comic on this topic. The audience then decides who will go through to the next round and then compete against each other in the final.

It's a cold morning. Shivering, you pull your woolly, hairy feet a little closer to you and under the animal fur that makes your sleeping place in the cave cozy. After shivering for a while, you are seized by anger, which resonates in harmony with your rumbling stomach, and you open your deep-set eyes. You catch sight of the morning, jump up from your cozy resting place, stride into the mist and reach for one of the many dark stones that you and your clan had piled up to protect you from the dangers of the forest. But on this morning there is no danger, no buck, no sabre-toothed tiger, just you. Your weather-beaten, firm hands clench around the stone. A grumble makes your body tremble - this fucking hunger - you think to yourself and hurl the stone you picked up against the wall of the cave with all your might, roaring so that every mega-beast out there looks around respectfully and your friendos are all startled from their sweet dreams to reach for their stone weapons. Simultaneously and unexpectedly, a spark from the impact site slides gently onto your straw mattress, igniting a sudden hot light that terrifies the cave dwellers even more. You stare at your hands and then at the panicked faces of your companions. What mystical force is sending sparks and light through you? Why you? What have you done?

Wondering what a comic battle is?
Six illustrators compete against each other. In the duel, they have several minutes to draw their vision on paper for a randomly drawn term. After the time has elapsed, the music stops and the pens have to fall out of their hands. Now the audience decides which of the drawings is the more convincing.
The opponent with the most points wins.

This year's Comic Battle is not only thematically themed around the Stone Age. The two hosts once drew together at a comic battle in Kiel a long time ago and are now meeting again on stage at Kukoon to guide you through the evening. Bocki and Lulu with Kim are looking forward to you and your ideas!
