Nominated for the Mülheim Children's Play Prize 2026: "Wimmeln" by Leah Luna Winzely

Bo feels like a stranger in the school playground. Instead of spending the break with the children, Bo watches the hustle and bustle from the edge of the schoolyard and wishes he could go back to his own room, which is so small that only a bed fits in it. Bo thinks the hidden object book he receives for his birthday is childish. But then the birthday boy discovers himself in the picture and the book comes to life. Leah Luna Winzely uses the power of the imagination to deal with experiences of loneliness. The colorful cosmos of diverse voices and perspectives emerges from her playful use of text forms and language styles.
