This shows the glamorous, festive character of the Baroque. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 , with its variety of instruments and refined structures, is a shining example of his virtuosity and inventiveness. Schnittke's Concerto grosso No. 1 combines the Baroque tradition with modern sound elements and unusual harmonies.
