Roland Kaehlbrandt is a non-fiction author, linguist and expert in language education. He is an honorary professor of language and society at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Alfter near Bonn. As a non-fiction author and linguist, he published the SPIEGEL bestseller "Deutsch - eine Liebeserklärung. The ten great advantages of our amazing language." As a language enthusiast and foundation expert, he has launched major educational projects such as the national competition "Jugend debattiert" and the spelling competition "Deutschland schreibt!" as well as the "Deutschsommer". He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the German Academy for Language and Literature. He has received prestigious German and French awards for his services to language awareness and language culture.
