A cappella | anders: So kurz davor

Welcome to a cappella at the Volksbad! Every spring we present an a cappella performance, starting in 2026 with the five-piece Freiburg band "anders".

They are Germany's a cappella German poets. Their style: catchy melodies and intelligent lyrics. Anders write smart pop songs in German that take the a cappella performance form seriously and are more than just instrument-imitating cover songs of current chart hits or nostalgic songs about the flora on the balcony. The multiple award winners not only delight their audiences at their own concerts, but have also opened for bands such as Revolverheld and Thees Uhlmann.

So close - what's it all about? Who doesn't know those moments when your pulse goes up to your head and your heart races? Dare to have your first kiss? Jump off the 10-meter board? Give your boss a piece of your mind? Speak uncomfortable truths? In short: moments when it's all about the big picture. With their new program "So kurz davor", they go all out and sing about life in all its facets in their own poetic way: Humorous, melancholic, philosophically questioning and self-confident. Anders present a brilliant a cappella show with an unmistakable pop sound, authentic songs and a closeness to the audience that is second to none. Consequently, the program title is less a self-description than a promise. With "So kurz davor", the Freiburg band show once again that they can already hold their own with the big names in the scene.
