A Tale Of Golden Keys

When a meteorite hit the Yucatan Peninsula 65 million years ago and a chain reaction of solar eclipse, severe cooling of the earth and the subsequent greenhouse effect led to the gradual extinction of the dinosaurs, nobody would have expected that a somewhat dusty indie rock band from Nuremberg would celebrate their 15th anniversary in 2025 with a small but fine tour of Germany. But they actually feel like playing. Old, not quite so old and previously unreleased. A bit like the very beginning - only different.

Coincidentally, the trio's debut long-player "Everything Went Down As Planned" was released exactly 10 years ago. It contains classics such as "All Of This", which has been streamed millions of times, and "Three Weeks". With these and many other songs, they are now going back to the small clubs of their beginnings and playing everything up and down again.

The roots of the band 'Karl Egals Koalas' go back to the past decade, when the group first formed in the summer of 2013. The creative journey began with the urge to shout the issues from the village kids' heads into the world - with an unwavering DIY attitude. That same year, the first EP 'Kunstwerk' was released entirely on their own, followed by a period of silence and individual development.

In 2023, the Koalas returned: the first singles were recorded with new ideas, skills and influences. Just in time for the release of the new 'Stoßlüften EP' in September 2024, 'Karl Egals Koalas' stirred up the so-called scene with an abundance of concerts. It's going to be loud, crazy, scrappy. And still DIY, just as it should be.
