Accordion Affairs

Trio or quartet? Both are possible with Accordion Affairs: Jörg Siebenhaar (accordion & piano), Konstantin Wienstroer (bass) and Peter Baumgärtner (drums).

Siebenhaar's synchronized playing of accordion and piano creates a completely unique sound - a rare art that considerably expands the possibilities of arrangement and improvisation. Accordion and piano merge into a sonic unity!

The trio captivates with extraordinary dynamics: from almost breathy to powerfully voluminous sounds - expressive or ultra-cool.

Stylistically open, the program ranges from world music of the most diverse cultures to original compositions and interpretations of great works - such as those by accordionist Richard Galliano, the Beatles, Johann Sebastian Bach or guitarist John Scofield.

The blind pianist and accordionist Jörg Siebenhaar is a versatile and sensitive stage and studio musician who has worked with renowned artists on international stages since his training at the Folkwang Hochschule and impresses with his extraordinary musical skills.

Konstantin Wienstroer, who comes from a family of musicians in Neuss, studied double bass in Vienna and at the Folkwang University in Essen and has since worked internationally as a versatile jazz and world musician.

Peter Baumgärtner, a native of the Black Forest from Düsseldorf, is an experienced jazz drummer with international stage experience who, as founder of the Hildener Jazztage and co-initiator of the Jazz Schmiede, has played a key role in shaping the scene in NRW.
