The ACT NOW FILMFESTIVAL is not just about cinema. It's a space for reflection, urgency, and solidarity - a gathering for those who believe that stories can shift narratives.

In 2025, the festival returns to Munich with a sharper focus. We invite filmmakers, activists, athletes, and engaged audiences to explore the deeply interconnected worlds of sport and activism - from climate justice to anti-racism, from gender equity to the right to protest.

Around the world, athletes and communities are speaking out, challenging systems of oppression, and pushing for real change. These movements deserve cinematic attention - not only as subjects of struggle, but as acts of creativity, resilience, and imagination.

We believe in the power of collective spaces - places where stories are not just watched, but felt, questioned, and carried forward. The ACT NOW FILMFESTIVAL is for anyone who sees sport as more than a game and film as more than entertainment - for those who believe that culture can confront power, and that change begins when we listen, learn, and act together.

This year's ACT NOW FILMFESTIVAL is divided into two parts and offers not only carefully selected documentaries but also an educational approach with a storybuilding workshop by Uzo Iweala.
