After 15 years of musical creativity, countless projects and quiet maturing processes, Adrian Artmann steps into the light with his first solo album - and it's not a quiet performance. Durchzug is a work that defies categorization - somewhere between sensitive German pop, soul and a finely crafted mix of acoustic depth and elaborately orchestrated arrangements. The songs tell of a long journey: of growing up, of taking responsibility, of observing and questioning. They deal with political vigilance, personal change and the people who have remained - above all his father, to whom a very special musical homage is dedicated. Artmann's lyrics are eloquent, thoughtful and yet approachable, carried by an instrumental density that goes far beyond the usual - made possible by the collaboration with numerous local artists who lend the album its collective warmth.As guitarist and creative table tennis partner to Ansa Sauermann, Adrian Artmann already has several kilometers of touring under his belt. With Durchzug, he opens a musical window into his past - and into a future that shows attitude.
