Advent is a time of tradition. And traditions should be cherished, as Grandma once never tired of emphasizing. Most people switch off by then, and rightly so. But wait!

For nine years now, "advenzz benefizz jazz" has been inviting people to a pre-Christmas charity concert evening. And it's not just a good thing because it's for a good cause, no: since 2016, the who's who of Leipzig's illustrious jazz scene has been playing here!

A look at this year's line-up reveals: you can't say anything! The Lucas Rauch Organ Trio presents a contemporary update of the classic organ jazz sound of the sixties. Those who like it more modern will get their money's worth with pianist Johannes Wasikowski's sound miniatures that meander between ambient, jazz and new classical music. The Mona Linus Quintett, on the other hand, is more powerful. MONDAYBOXX - The Real Jazz Orchestra will also be stopping by to play some good old-school jazz.

This time, the proceeds will go to the two charities Doctors Without Borders and TiMMi ToHelp. As I said: you can't say anything!
