Reading by Julian Nida-Rümelin:
"Ähren im Wind - Politische Orientierung in fordernden Zeiten" is the title of the new book by Julian Nida-Rümelin, Emeritus Chair of Philosophy and Political Theory at LMU and current Rector of the Humanistische Hochschule Berlin. It combines personal experiences with reflections on the state of democracy and its endangerment by right-wing populism and left-wing intolerance. Julian Nida-Rümelin has never practiced philosophy from an ivory tower, but has participated courageously and passionately in political discourse. His thinking is characterized by the confidence that reasonable arguments between different positions can create understanding or even insight. The book was written on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
After a welcome by the Law Library and an introduction by Simone Reperger, Director of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Bayern, Julian Nida-Rümelin will present excerpts from his book and then discuss them with you. You are cordially invited to attend. The book can be purchased on site.
A cooperation of Gegen Vergessen - Für Demokratie e.V., RAG Munich and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Bayern
