As part of the "Cohesion in Diversity" day of action, several inclusive offers will take place on Thursday (May 21) at the LWL Museum of Natural History with Planetarium in Münster. The offers are intended to make scientific topics accessible and understandable for all target groups and are aimed at all interested parties - with or without disabilities.

The public guided tour "Groping through genetics" starts at 3 pm. In around 60 minutes, it makes complex biological topics of the exhibition "Genes - Diversity of Life" tangible - through touch, hearing and individually tailored forms of communication. The selection of the in-depth information and excursions is adapted to the situation of the respective group. The offer has been specially designed for small groups of a maximum of ten people (including accompanying persons) in order to create the most comfortable and personal setting possible. The tour focuses on selected stations in the Gene exhibition with tactile objects that deepen the understanding of the exhibition content. In addition, specially selected handpieces are used for participants to feel.

The tour focuses on the question of how genes influence the appearance and behavior of all living things, how they are structured and how they can change. The inclusive tour is intended to provide new approaches to genetics - beyond visual communication. Participation in the tour is free of charge. Registration is not required.

The LWL Planetarium also offers inclusive programs on this day. At 11.30 a.m., the show "Fascination of Space - Expedition into the Star Kingdom" (from 8 years) will be shown in easy language. At 4 pm, the show "Time Travel - From the Big Bang to Humans" (from 9 years) will be shown with subtitles. The 360-degree audio experience "OZDALA - a sound journey into the rainforest" follows at 5 pm, in which visitors can experience the diverse noises and sounds of the rainforest on the 37.2 channels of the LWL Planetarium's audio system - based on original sound recordings. The program was produced by Studiokamp and Planetarium Sound and is particularly suitable for people with visual impairments.

This year, the Cultural Integration Initiative is calling for the nationwide "Cohesion in Diversity" day of action on May 21. As part of the UNESCO World Day of Cultural Diversity, organizations, alliances and individuals are invited to carry out campaigns and events and thus set an example for cohesion in a diverse society.
