Aleksandar Cvetkovic began his pianistic training at the age of six. He received 1st and 2nd prizes in national and international competitions for his achievements in solo and chamber music. As a double scholarship holder, he completed his diploma in music at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin in 2023 and his master's degree in 2025. Since 2026, he has been studying for a doctorate in musicology at the Detmold University of Music on Maurice Ravel and French music of the 20th century and in the same year received a teaching position in music at the University of Paderborn.
His program "Reflections: Of Silent Woods and Open Seas" unfolds musical landscapes between observation of nature and inner reflection.
Silent Woods - With Mozart's Sonata in F major KV 332 and pieces from Schumann's "Forest Scenes", the program leads us into a poetic world of natural images between mysterious expectation, quiet contemplation and enigmatic foreboding. From the initially meditative calm of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata", the emotional range and intensity of Romantic piano music becomes impressive.
Open Seas - Chopin's Nocturne and his first Ballade open up a space of lyrical narrative and passionate expressiveness. Impressionistic timbres by Debussy and Ravel follow, in which light, movement and shimmering reflections unfold in the finest nuances. Ravel's "Une barque sur l'océan" impressively depicts the shimmering sound surfaces that reflect the movement of the sea in ever-changing wave lines and lead into a wide-open soundscape.
