What happens when early music meets our present day? The Echos Chamber Collective presents an unusual concert format that links baroque works with contemporary life issues - sonically, visually and thematically.
At the center is the oratorio Il Sacrifizio di Abramo by Camilla de Rossi - a baroque interpretation of the biblical story of Abraham that is astonishingly contemporary in its emotional depth.
The concert is complemented by film scenes that accompany the everyday life of a contemporary figure - with moments of beauty, irritation and the question of belonging and self-positioning.
The musical program includes works by:
Camilla de Rossi, Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre, Francesco Geminiani, Georg Philipp Telemann, Anna Bon di Venezia, Henry Purcell and Hildegard von Bingen.
An evening that not only reinterprets early music, but also places it in a dialog with the present - clever, touching and full of perspectives.
