Multimedia concert: Georg Hajdu - Summer 2021
"Summer 2021 for Dá Gu and Multimedia" is an exploration of climate change, which has become so evident in large parts of the world that the issue is beginning to dominate political discourse. Recordings of nature are mixed with instrumental actions and effects and end in a fragmentation of the 60s song "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head"
Lecture: Prof. Dr. Jana Sillmann & Dr. Malte von Szombathely: Water from 4 sides - a risk assessment for Hamburg
Hamburg is increasingly affected by heavy rainfall and sudden flooding. In order to make our city more resilient, it is crucial to understand where the greatest risks exist and how we can specifically prepare ourselves. As part of a project of the Cluster of Excellence at the University of Hamburg, we are investigating how strongly and how frequently heavy rainfall events and flooding occur, how many people and buildings could be affected - and how well individual districts and their residents can cope with such extreme situations. This also involves key questions: What do these risks mean for the well-being and mobility of the population? Where is there a concrete need for action? And how can we make Hamburg more resilient and sustainable in the long term? An interactive lecture in cooperation with the Cluster of Excellence Climate, Climatic Change, and Society (CLICCS) at the University of Hamburg.
Multimedia Performance: Holy Water
Water is the basis of all life, but also an immensely destructive force. It shapes the living and the non-living in equal measure. It permeates matter and spirit, flows with calm persistence and paves its way piece by piece. Water is a hyperobject: we can only ever perceive fragments of its entirety. With "HOLY WATER", the artists present a multimedia ritual that attempts to capture this immeasurable and transcendent nature of water.
