With the brilliantly festive "Gloria in D" by Antonio Vivaldi, the Cologne Philharmonic Choir rings in the festive and contemplative
rings in the festive and contemplative Advent season.

This work is certainly one of the best known by the Italian composer, who was nicknamed "Il Prete Rosso" (Red Priest) due to his fiery red hair and clerical rank.

This music is wild and impetuous, majestic and solemn, intimate, pleading and conciliatory in equal measure and once again demonstrates Vivaldi's mastery as a composer.

The concert also features contemplative, Christmassy movements by John Rutter, Kim André Arnesen and Gustav Holst, which heighten the anticipation of the festive season with their immediate emotional access.

At the end of the concert, the Philharmonic Choir invites you to sing along!
