Sixteen-year-old Dessi leads a double life: In Munich's hotspot district of Neuperlach, she pretends to be an ace foreigner with jogging pants and Alman jokes, while at inner-city high school Daisy wears a blonde wig, blue contact lenses and speaks High German. She keeps her friends secret from each other. She would rather try to fit in everywhere than make herself vulnerable. The tactic works - until one day she is caught by Bo during her transformation. Bo is not only Dessi's neighbor, but also her classmate and therefore the only one who knows both of their personalities. Can Dessi convince him to keep quiet? Or will their two worlds collide for good?

Anna Dimitrova

Anna Dimitrova was born in Sofia in 1998, where she published her first young adult novel in September 2011. In March 2022, she completed her screenwriting studies at the University of Television and Film in Munich, where she wrote several comedy short films and won the ProSiebenSat.1 Mainstream Award 2018 with a sitcom idea. A year later, she completed an eight-week writing course at the New York Film Academy and has been working as a freelance writer in Munich ever since. Her second young adult novel "Kanak Kids" was published on the German market in 2024 and was nominated for the Paul Maar Prize.

The KlasseBuch series is a cooperation between the Literaturhaus Bonn and Bonn schools, which is expressly open to non-school audiences and all interested parties. Building on project work and reading in class, the event becomes a live literary experience for pupils in which they are actively involved.
