Painting and drawing
In her solo exhibition "Never trust the idyll", Anna Grahlmann shows collaged drawings on paper and fictitious landscape paintings with oil on wood.
These are methodically different series of works on an overarching, identical theme: "There is this longing for the idyll, the happy ending, the perfect vacation, job, partner, place to live and vacation spot. Every travel agency advertises it, Hollywood films talk about it, social media floods our heads with these stories every day. I am interested in the longing for these idyllic stories, whose pull I can understand, and which I deeply distrust in their flawless smoothness."
Anna Grahlmann has a peculiar feel for the fragility of our certainties. In her works, she illuminates the human need for carefreeness, belonging and security in a world characterized by uncertainty, upheaval and contradictions.
Opening: Saturday, 11.10.25 at 6 pm.
