Together with the Filmgalerie Phase IV, the ZfBK - Zentrum für Baukultur Sachsen is showing the film "French Connection" by William Friedkin from 1871 as part of the "Architecture in Film" series.

Gene Hackman as fanatical cop Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle, who fights drug gangsters with uncompromising brutality. A classic New York film set in a time when business and morals were bankrupt, with one of the best car chases in film history. Director William Friedkin's portrayal of run-down Brooklyn, making the big city the main protagonist and at the same time a mirror for his disillusioned protagonist, became a defining feature of New Hollywood cinema.
