ARTIST BAR TALK

In the organizer's words:

Twice a year, artists with an expressive, visual approach to art are invited to talk about themselves, their career and their work in the intimate setting of a bar lecture.

Nschotschi Haslinger (*1982 in Eitorf) and Monika Michalko (*1982 in Sokolov) share an interest in an idea of art that seeks to create an entire world rather than getting lost in the minutiae of aesthetic expression. Her characters - be it the painted figures or the participants in a performance - are just as surreal and ghostly as the fantastic space surrounding them. While the painter Michalko focuses on the playful and clownish, Haslinger, who works on paper and ceramics, also explores the abysmal realms of fantasy.
