Figures wander across the stage, their paths crossing and losing each other. They are all on the move, uprooted. Perhaps they live in an unknown city. Or perhaps they live on the other side of the moon. They take their motifs from Hilde Domin's work.

Forced into exile by the National Socialists, she found her home in words. Her poetry speaks of the resistant courage to renew what has been lost. After 22 years in exile, Hilde Domin returned to Heidelberg in 1954 and became one of the most important poets of the post-war period.

Based on her word art, director Marcel Kohler develops a series of scenic miniatures, a panorama about leaving and staying, about the poetry in things and a life "among acrobats and birds". An evening between theater, concert, live painting and circus. An evening that penetrates to the "skin of the heart".
