„Aufbrüche – Umbrüche: Ein Dialog zwischen Bremerhaven und Chemnitz“

The exhibition "Aufbrüche - Umbrüche: Ein Dialog zwischen Bremerhaven und Chemnitz" invites visitors to rediscover regional and urban history and shows similarities between the two cities in their history, starting with industrialization in the 19th century. One of the connecting elements is how the economy and local life were and are shaped by and with immigrants.

The exhibition will open on October 20, 2025 at 5 p.m. with invited guests in the foyer of the Chemnitz University of Technology library (Str. der Nationen 33). It can be visited free of charge until November 28, 2025 during the library's opening hours. Even before the opening, a free city tour of Chemnitz will be offered for all interested parties, starting at 4 p.m. on site.
