Ausstellung: Besondere Räume – Sakralbauten im Wandel

In the organizer's words:

Religious buildings are currently losing importance. In some NRW cities, churches are threatened with closure in the medium term. Sacred buildings were usually architecturally outstanding construction projects that were able to develop great aesthetic power.

"Special Spaces - Sacred Buildings in Transition" is the title of an exhibition developed by the Federal Association of Architectural Photography in NRW (BVAF NRW) in cooperation with the NRW Chamber of Architects. - The exhibition can be seen from 01.10. - 21.11.2025 in the ARCHITEKTENKAMMER.NRW in Düsseldorf's Medienhafen.

The architectural photographers look at sacred buildings and their effect in their own specific way. The photos and image series focus in part on classic church buildings from the 1930s to the 1970s, but also take up current developments in renovation and conversion. New church buildings and a mosque are also among the buildings portrayed.
