"Discover the colorful diversity of the oceans" is a joint project of the Institute for Chemistry and Biology of the Marine Environment and the Helmholtz Institute for Functional Marine Biodiversity at the University of Oldenburg. The exhibition was made possible thanks to the support of the Barthel Foundation and the Oldenburg University Society (UGO).🦐🦪🪼

The photo exhibition shows the colorful diversity of the oceans through the eyes of scientists. It was initiated and curated by marine biologists Dr. Anna Roik, Dr. Stephanie Helber and Dr. Julia Strahl. Over 25 researchers have contributed their impressive photos to share their curiosity and fascination for our oceans and their inhabitants - with the aim of getting visitors excited about this fascinating topic. 🦪🦀🌈

The exhibition offers insights into the structure of tropical reefs and presents exciting and entertaining facts about the diversity of large and small reef dwellers. A special highlight are the habitats in the local North Sea, which often reveal unknown and enchanting beauty and biodiversity. Visitors can also gain an insight into the research and field work of marine scientists who are investigating the effects of environmental changes on the biodiversity of our oceans worldwide.🐙⚓🪸
