Around 650,000 people live in our state capital. Among them are around 8,000 people (as of 2021) with a Russian-speaking background who now live in the city on the Rhine for various reasons. As part of a youth project, 22 people who come from Siberia, Kazakhstan, central Russia or Ukraine and are now Düsseldorf residents were asked about their personal history. Why did they leave their old homeland? How did they get here and how do they feel in Düsseldorf, their new home? Düsseldorf photographer Thomas Stelzmann and Dr. Sabine Grabowski (GHH) will present the project together with the participants at the vernissage.
