On this evening, Axel Prahl provides a rare and personal insight into his life. Together with author Knut Elstermann, he talks about moments that have shaped him - as an artist and as a person.

artist and as a person: from Prahl's origins, childhood and youth to his first experiences in the theater, his music and his lyrics to friendship and love. You can look forward to a special event with very personal discussions about the life and work of an extraordinary actor.

Knut Elstermann, born in 1960, studied journalism in Leipzig and worked as an editor for various GDR media. He is now a freelance presenter and film journalist, mainly for MDR and RBB (radioeins). He lives in Berlin.

Axel Prahl was born in Eutin in 1960 and studied mathematics and music at the University of Education in Kiel after finishing school in Neustadt, Holstein. After just a few semesters, however, he transferred to the drama school there. This was followed by his first engagements at the theater in Kiel, then at the touring theater and at other, changing stages with ever increasing success. At the beginning of the nineties, Prahl moved to Berlin, where the stage of the GRIPS Theater became his second home. Since 2002, Axel Prahl can be seen as Chief Inspector Frank Thiel in the Münster Tatort. At the end of 2011, Axel Prahl released his debut album Blick aufs Mehr with his band Das Inselorchester. Several more have followed, always with his own lyrics.
