At the heart of the program is the 2nd English Suite in A minor by J.S. Bach: the pianist and harpsichordist Anne Roth changes the reprises of the dance movements according to the model of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and thus attempts - by varying and recombining the thematic material - to bring the spirit of the work and the period into the present through metamorphosis. Together with her brother, the
cellist and mathematician Fridolin Roth, the siblings set the mood for this experiment with J.S. Bach's Viola da Gamba Sonata No. 3 in G minor and end the evening with Astor Piazzolla.
the evening with Astor Piazzolla's "Le Grand Tango". The concert program "Bach moves" plays with fluid boundaries - and with fire!
