Bahnhofskino: „Die Akademie“ mit Q&A

Watch movies where they were filmed? That's exactly what you can experience in our station cinema! We are showing the film "The Academy", which takes a look behind the doors of one of the most prestigious art academies and whose scenes were partly shot in our club.

When young Jojo is accepted to the academy, she can hardly believe her luck. She is allowed to attend the painting class of the world-famous Prof. Robert Copley, whose work she admires. A rich panorama of art unfolds before her eyes: students, artists, professors, gallery owners - colorful and eccentric characters who are all struggling with their work, love and life. But it soon becomes clear that this dazzling world is also a merciless terrain. Jojo tries everything to stay true to herself in this toxic environment.

In her extraordinary cinema debut, director Camilla Guttner, herself a master student of Irish painter Sean Scully at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich, delves deep into the fascinating world of art academies and conveys an authentic and unsparing picture of this unique microcosm. Witty, bizarre, humorous. Up-and-coming actress Maja Bons impresses in the leading role with her multi-faceted and penetrating performance.

Afterwards: Q&A with Jörg Besser, aka "The Eggman" - the only artist who plays himself in one of the main roles in the film. He will give a first-hand account of the shooting and making of the film.
