With Hora Fani and Bettina Pinkert, the Balkan Ball returns to the Kulturhaus Schwanen Waiblingen on Friday, March 13, 2026. The format has long since established itself as an integral part of the dance culture at Schwanen - the focus is on rousing live music, dancing together and open interaction. The six-piece band from Heilbronn and Crailsheim brings energetic rhythms from the Balkans to the stage, while dancer and dance mediator Bettina Pinkert gets the audience moving. Everyone who enjoys music, encounters and movement is invited - regardless of experience or background.

When Hora Fani plays, a sound space is created that reaches the heart and feet in equal measure. Between violin, trumpet, accordion and percussion, melodies unfold that tell of shared experiences - sometimes spirited, sometimes tender, always full of joy in playing. Her music spans an arc between tradition and the present, between origin and curiosity, between the sound of home and world music.

Bettina Pinkert sees dancing as a form of encounter: low-threshold, open and connecting. Her dance instructions also pick up beginners and create moments in which community can be physically experienced. She says: "Dancing can be political - as a form of sharing, as a sign of respect and cultural appreciation."

The Balkan Ball will once again be an evening of connection - between people, cultures and rhythms. Whether dancing along or listening: those who are here will feel what cultural diversity can mean - very directly, to the beat.
