Indie rock duo from New Zealand coming to

Germany in spring 2026

Balu Brigada are undoubtedly one of the most exciting bands from New Zealand at the moment. With their breakthrough song "So Cold " - which has now been streamed over 51 million times on Spotify - the band reached number 1 in the alternative radio charts in the USA, performed the song on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! and became part of the FIFA 2025 soundtrack. In 2025, they toured the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the UK as support for Twenty One Pilots and made their catchy sound between indie, surf rock, grunge and alt-pop known worldwide with energetic live shows. Following the release of four EPs and a compilation, Balu Brigada's long-awaited debut album "Portal" was released at the end of August 2025. Diffus magazine dedicated a portrait to the band, describing them as the "next big thing" and comparing them to The Strokes, early Tame Impala albums and Gorillaz. In April 2026, Balu Brigada will be coming to Germany on their first headline tour and can be seen live in Munich, Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne.

Balu Brigada was formed in 2016 by brothers Henry (vocals & guitar), Charles (drums) and Pierre Brigada (keyboards) and their mutual school friend Guy Harrison (bass) in the New Zealand capital Auckland. Over time, the band developed into a duo around Henry and Pierre, who signed a contract with Warner Music Australia and Atlantic Records in 2022 after several single releases and their first shows in New Zealand. Balu Brigada began to develop their unique multidimensional sound between modern indie and alternative pop on their debut EP "I Should Be Home" in 2022. The duo's next record, "Find A Way", followed in 2023 and included another fan favorite, "Designer". 2024 saw the release of "So Cold", the single that changed everything for Balu Brigada and became their most successful song to date. After the band had long been celebrated by international media for their sound, Twenty One Pilots invited them to join them as special guests on their Clancy Tour, giving the band's energetic live shows a worldwide stage. The single "Backseat" became the next success for Balu Brigada in May 2025. At the end of August, they confirmed the hype with their debut album "Portal", which presented the band's sound in full for the first time and will bring them to Europe in spring 2026.
