About the act:

"In der fernsten der Fernen" - Dota sings Kaléko
Mascha Kaléko was one of the sharp-tongued voices of Berlin's bohemian scene in the 1920s, known for her clear, everyday poems. Dota Kehr is a Berliner who has been writing, singing and performing with her band DOTA since 2003. In the meantime, they have recorded 16 albums and played countless tours at home and abroad.
Mascha Kaléko's lyrics meet Dota Kehr's musical lightness: this evening is an intimate concert in which language and music are so closely intertwined that everything seems to be cast from a single mold. Sometimes tender, sometimes mischievous, sometimes surprisingly direct. Dota uses Kaléko's words to tell the story of being human in everyday life. The audience can look forward to an evening that begins quietly, then becomes pulsating, laughs in between, occasionally sighs and ends with a pleasant reverberation in the mind. Dota has rescued Mascha Kaléko's texts for our times, and even more: they sound as if they were written now, in this form.

About the Barfüßer Open Air:

Founded in 2020 as the "Pandemic Garden Theater "to create an island of culture in difficult times, the event series has firmly established itself at the heart of Thuringia's cultural scene.

In the impressive setting of the towering Barfüsser ruins, we offer concerts, theater, comedy and other events from all areas of culture. Enjoy - in addition to the furious performances on stage - an oasis in the midst of the urban hustle and bustle in the center of the Thuringian capital. Our bar leaves nothing to be desired and is open for you during the season.

Visit us free of charge during the Krämerbrückenfest (19.06. to 21.06.2026) and the Fête de la Musique (21.06.2026). On these days, the Barfüßerruine will be the venue for an appealing music program.

We would also like to invite you to this year's summer theater with -Sherlock Holmes- based on the stories of Arthur Conan Doyle from July 30 to August 29, 2026.
