Whether it's three unconventional "Parts on a ground" by Henry Purcell or a concerto by Georg Philipp Telemann with the sonically charming solo instruments oboe d'amore and viola d'amore: the program of this year's BAROQUE ADVENT CONCERT promises to open your ears to impressions of an unusual kind. The baroque ensemble of the Deutsche Philharmonie Merck will be led by Christine Busch, a baroque violinist who regularly works with Philippe Herreweghe and the Collegium Vocale Gent as concertmaster and is closely associated with other renowned early music ensembles from Concentus Musicus Wien to the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. Her CD of Beethoven violin sonatas has just been released and has been recommended by Klassik heute magazine as "a recording that vibrates with joie de vivre", because Busch's interpretation is "fresh, lively and stormy and always on the go" - qualities that always suit our baroque program.
