2025 is drawing to a close - and the so-called music industry has once again provided plenty of material for wild discussions and a lot of hot takes this year: Majors bankrupt their shareholders and lay people off, small indie label operators have to pay fines for allegedly fraudulent streams and who was The Velvet Sundown again? All right.

We've rummaged through the low budget high spirit newsletter archive once again and will try to categorize the most important topics and developments of the year on November 19 at Superbude Altona - in order to take a hopeful look at 2026 despite all the dystopia.

For the discussion, we have invited Fabian Schütze, the newsletter maker himself (low budget high spirit, Golden Ticket), and Katharina Köhler (DEICHKIND, female force mgmt*). The discussion will be moderated by Friederike Schröder (Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Tonart).
