Begegnung mit Schulhund – ein besonderes Erlebnis für Kinder

Many children love dogs but don't have a four-legged friend at home. At the "Encounter with a school dog" at the Schnüffelnase dog school, they can experience dogs in a safe, supervised setting and learn to understand them better.

After a short introduction to respectful interaction with dogs, the children discover various hands-on stations together with school dog Suki. Sometimes the focus is on movement, sometimes on teamwork or calm concentration. Course elements, little tricks, knowledge games and creative moments alternate - always adapted to the age, group and dynamics.

The following always applies:
The dog sets the pace. It goes without saying that breaks and consideration are part of the experience.

At the end, a joint highlight awaits - for example, a small treasure hunt or a special team game. Each child also receives a small memento of the experience.

The focus is on relationships, responsibility and real experiences.

What do you learn during the activity?

• Understanding dogs better: Children learn to recognize and correctly interpret dog body language and signals.
• Developing respectful interaction: They learn how to approach a dog, how to speak to it and when consideration is important.
• Confidence in contact with dogs: Through guided encounters, children build trust and gain self-confidence.
• Experience teamwork with the dog: In small exercises, courses or tricks, the children learn how working together with a dog works.
• Taking responsibility: The children experience that the dog's needs are important - breaks, rest and the right pace are all part of this.
• Strengthening concentration and attentiveness: Many tasks require calm observation, precise action and empathy.
• Enjoy movement and learning with animals: Playful knowledge games and creative tasks make learning lively and motivating.

Are there any special requirements for the activity?

The child should enjoy contact with dogs and be open to guided exercises. They should be able to follow group rules and create short periods of calm and concentration. Comfortable clothing that can get dirty is recommended. Please note: This offer is not suitable for children with a pronounced fear of dogs or existing dog allergies, as direct contact with the school dog is a central component of the activity.
